A Day in the Life: Toddler Edition

5:00am – 6:00am: Wake up at some point and look around confused. I fell asleep on the couch and remember waking up a few times in my bed but I cried out for Mommy so she took me out to the couch and laid with me so I wouldn’t be afraid anymore, it’s dark and lonely at night in my room. Now I’m in bed with Daddy and Mommy is missing.

6:00am – 7:00am: I’m usually grumpy from waking up too early, closer to 5:00am, or happy because I woke up closer to 6:00am. Regardless, I’ve sat with my Gigi and drank some milk and am now roaming the house. Turns out Mommy was in the bathroom playing with her hair and putting that funny stuff on her face. My Favorite Girl

I noticed that it’s been a while since I talked about my favorite girl.

Shit is happening fast!

It won’t last forever…..

How has the New Year of 2017 been for all of you?

I’m grateful for my mother during this time, more so than I am at any other time. If it cannot be me who is spending quality hours with my child then I am comforted by the fact that it is my mother. She is catching the smiles and milestones on camera. It’s with great sadness that I think the first time I see my daughter walk that it will be on film because I’ll be at work. Lessons for Daughters and Sons

To help me become a better writer I’ve been trying to put together little stories for my daughter that I hope will help her learn lessons as she grows up.

I’ve been working on this one for a month or so now and felt it was a story that I should share with everyone. I think it’s a lesson that is universal. As I was writing it I realized how simple life was as a child. How clear and easy my thoughts on the world were when I didn’t have doubt and fear darkening my feelings.

I hope you all enjoy my little story. It’s just the beginning and is constantly growing. Continue reading “Lessons for Daughters and Sons”
