I posted a picture earlier this week. It was of me 8 weeks post-partum and one of me as of Sunday, October 29, 2017. The difference to me is shocking. It might not be to others but they don’t really know what is most shocking to me.

I’ve talked about it before, my obsession with podcasts.
Getting to delve into new genres, topics and communities has been just what I needed to change my perspective and to continue my growth as a human being. I can listen to any topic on any day, no matter how I’m feeling and I learn something new.
So, each week I’m going to do my best to showcase one of the many shows I listen to regularly in the hopes that you all might find something new and exciting as well.
I love being able to get the perspective of people I respect and admire, heck, I even look forward to the perspective of those I despise. You know why? It allows me to open my mind.
I am very proud of the fact that I considered myself to be open minded, but I had to stop and really take a look at myself recently. I discovered that I was really only open minded to people that generally agreed with my philosophies and ideologies. It sucked to step back and recognize that in myself. I can’t expect others to open themselves up to a new thought processes or ideals when I’m willing to do the same.
The show that really helped me to see this was Gay Talk 2.0 The Ultimate Podcast. I started listening to the podcast when Nick G, from The Dependent Independent, my wonderful long-distance friend, did a guest appearance.
